ACF Launches New Web Site
ACF is pleased to announce the unveiling of the organization’s new Web site, www.acfchefs.org. The new site is a positive step in enhancing ACF’s presence. President’s Grand Ball Reserved Dinner Seating
Reserved seating is now taking place for the President’s Grand Ball at the 2008 ACF National Convention. The culmination of the national convention, the President’s Grand Ball is an exciting evening of awards presentations on July 16 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino Premier Ballroom.
To make a dinner seating request online, the confirmation number located on your registration confirmation is needed.
CMCs Team Up with ACF Culinary Team USA for Third Annual CMC Dinner at National Convention
The Third Annual CMC Dinner takes place Tuesday, July 15, at 7 p.m. at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino Studio Ballroom. Featuring ACF’s CMCs and ACF Culinary Team USA, the evening promises to be culinary excellence at its best—menus.
The events is expected to sell out again, making it the third year in a row. A limited number of tickets are still available and can be purchased online until Thursday, July 10.

ACFF Accreditation Workshop at National Convention
Learn about recent changes and updates to the accreditation process during the American Culinary Federation Foundation (ACFF) Accreditation Workshop on Friday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the University of Las Vegas.

Support Chef & Child 50/50 Raffle
Chef & Child will hold a 50/50 raffle during the 2008 ACF National Convention. Suggested donations are $3 for one ticket, $5 for two tickets and $25 for 12 tickets. Tickets are available from 9 a.m. on July 13, until 3 p.m. on July 16. A single winner will be chosen randomly at a drawing on July 17 at the Margaritaville Lunch, 12:30–2 p.m. The cash prize is 50% of the ticket sales. The remaining 50% will benefit a local Nevada charity.
ACF Member Resource Center—Book Signings, ACF Merchandise, Chapter Supplies & Assistance
The ACF Member Resource Center at the national convention will host book signings, provide networking opportunities, offer chapter assistance and have ACF merchandise for sale.
Visit the store during the 2008 ACF National Convention for new merchandise and big savings. There will be convention T-shirts, assorted memorabilia, blankets, hooded jackets, windbreakers, picture frames and more.
The ACF Membership Department will have supplies available for chapter officers, including brochures, applications and chapter handouts. In addition, a membership representative will be on hand to assist with any questions or comments.
Wanted: Charming, Telegenic Chefs!
Casting for “The Chef’s Wife,” a synergistic project encompassing a cooking/chat television show, a series of internationally available “web-isodes” and a Web site. Auditions are currently being scheduled for the TV program, slated to air this fall on PBS affiliate WTVI in Charlotte, N.C. The show will also be available as content for PBS Plus (a national distribution arm of the network), and abbreviated segments will air online as “web-isodes.”
Auditions for the show will be held during the 2008 ACF National Convention trade show, Tuesday, July 15, 2–6 p.m., in Studio 7 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena. To schedule an audition, please submit a photo and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. Qualified chefs will be contacted via e-mail with instructions and audition times.
Producers are casting accomplished chefs with great personalities who are certified by the American Culinary Federation or a comparable institution. Chefs must be affiliated with a respected, high-profile restaurant, hotel, pastry shop, resort, school or bakery.
Filming is scheduled for Aug. 25–29 and Sept. 8–12. Each episode will require one travel day and one full day to film. The production company will provide for all travel expenses and incidentals.

International Chefs Congress in NYC
