Academy Highlights from the 2012 ACF
The American Academy of Chefs kicked off this year’s national
convention at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Fla., with
the annual Fellow’s meeting on Sunday, July 15. During this
meeting, the new Academy inductees took their oath, American Academy of
Chefs Culinary Hall of Fame™ inductees and AAC award winners were
announced. AAC Chair Stafford DeCambra, CEC, CCE, CCA, AAC, and AAC Vice
Chair Mark Wright, CEC, AAC, then provided a business update on the

That evening, Fellow members and guests celebrated the 41st Annual
Academy Induction Reception and Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando.
Guests experienced true fellowship and were treated with service of the
highest quality paired with an extraordinary dinner prepared by
Executive Chef Bernard Fiemeyer and his amazing culinary team. Inductees
were honored as they received their medals, and award winners were
recognized. In addition, the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs made a
$10,000 donation for scholarships.
The Spouses Luncheon on Monday, July 16, was hosted by ACF Culinary
Regional Team member, Andreas Proisl, CEPC, at the extravagant
Islesworth Golf and Country Club. Spouses enjoyed an amazing menu.
