VitamixVitamix® Again Donates Blenders to Support Childhood Nutrition Day

Vitamix has renewed its commitment to inspire chefs to participate in Childhood Nutrition Day during October. Vitamix will donate blenders to up to 50 first-time chefs who register and follow through on their commitments to host events. Chefs who received a Vitamix last year for supporting Childhood Nutrition Day and host events again this year will receive a dry grains container for healthy cereals and breads. Chefs can use the Vitamix machines in their activities ranging from cooking classes and demonstrations to hands-on smoothie making. Register your event today.

Childhood Nutrition Day - Oct. 16

ACF chapters and chefs across the nation will celebrate Childhood Nutrition Day, Oct. 16, by hosting awareness events during the month of October in an effort to educate kids and families about proper nutrition. You can make a difference in your community by participating. Visit the Childhood Nutrition Day page to register, find an event, and download templates and activities.

Ingredient of the Month

Low in fat, sugar and calories and high in antioxidants, the carambola is considered a superfruit packed with flavonoids and vitamin C. The whole fruit is edible, including skin and seeds, and has a sweet flavor with a tangy undertone. Available year-round, the main season for carambola is late summer to midwinter.
