ACF Culinary Team USA
The American Culinary Federation, Inc. (ACF), established in 1929 and the premier professional organization for culinarians in North America, is home to ACF Culinary Team USA, the official representative for the United States in major international culinary competitions. ACF Culinary Team USA consists of a national, military, regional and youth team. Each of these teams will represent the United States at the 2016 Internationale Kochkunst Ausstellung (IKA) International Culinary Exhibition, also known as the “culinary Olympics,” in Erfurt, Germany.
Eleven Chefs Selected for ACF Culinary Team USA
Hot-food tryouts took place on August 24 at College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, Ill. Multimedia Services at the College of DuPage provided this video showing how the eleven chefs from across the nation were selected for ACF Culinary Team USA, the official representative team for the U.S. in international culinary competitions. During the next few months, the selected chefs will work with team coaches to represent the U.S. in its first international competition at the 2014 Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg held Nov. 22–26, 2014. One Step Closer to Selecting the ACF Culinary Youth Team USA
Students had the opportunity to apply through November 30 for a spot on ACF Culinary Youth Team USA. Application review will take place before December 8, 2013. The application, résumé, biography, statement, competition experience, work history and other factors will be considered when selecting the best candidates for the tryouts. All approved candidates will be notified, by mail, of their acceptance to compete in the tryouts. Those who do not make the selection process will receive a thank-you letter. Decisions of the application panel are final.
