SUMMARY:ACF Sodium: A Little Goes a Long Way
LOCATION:Winston-Salem Marriott, Winston Salem, NC
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Chef and Child Foundation. According to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies of Science, "The current level of sodium added to the food supply-by food manufacturers, foodservice operators, and restaurants-is simply too high to be 'safe' for consumers given the chronic disease risks associated sodium intake for ALL population segments." How much is too much? Where is all this sodium coming from? And most importantly, how to cut back on sodium without sacrificing taste? Through a chef and dietician duo, we will offer an interactive session complete with cooking demo and tasting to show how a little sodium really does go a long way.\n Presented by Margaret Condrasky, Ed.D, RD, CCE, Associate Professor and Chad Carter, Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences, Clemson University \n\nTimes are local for the city in which this event is being held.\n\nThis event was added to your calendar on May 25, 2013.
