Pre-requisites for an ACF-approved culinary competition judge
- ACF member in good standing.
- ACF certified at the CSC or CWPC level or higher.
- Three gold medals (one in category F, one in categories A, B or C,
and one in category K or P). ACF, WACS, and Hotelympia medals fulfill
this requirement. Reaching CMC status fulfills medal requirements.
- Approved for judges training by the culinary competition committee
chair.
Judging Experience Criteria
- Apprentice judge a minimum of five ACF-approved culinary
competitions over two years. Of these competitions, three must be
categories F, K, or P/1.
- Successful completion of a six-hour judges seminar, "Becoming an ACF
Approved Judge," offered at ACF's
National Convention.
To maintain ACF-approved judge qualification
- Retain currency as an ACF member in good standing.
- Retain currency in the required level of ACF certification.
- Judge a minimum of three competitions every two years.
- Attend a judging seminar at a regional conference or national
convention.
