Professional Development Program
American Culinary Federation's (ACF) Professional Development Program:
- Provides educational sessions to expand the knowledge base of
members
- Includes forums where members can demonstrate and sharpen skills
- Offers opportunities to fulfill certification requirements
- Supports post-secondary culinary education programs
The Professional Development Program is part of the ACF Annual Events Series which includes four Regional Conferences and the National Convention & Trade Show.
The program consists of the following two tracks:

The Educator Development Series focuses on:
- Curriculum planning & development
- Evaluation & testing
- Teaching methodology
- Education psychology
The collection of instructional seminars, lectures and workshops helps educators improve their proficiency in:
- educational theories
- teaching & learning processes
- human dynamics
While the program was developed for culinary educators seeking
ACF certification, the components address disciplines common to
all professional educators. Anyone in this field is encouraged
to attend.

The Career Development Series focuses on:
- Nutritional education
- Sanitation & safety practices
- Business management and supervisory skills
- Lifestyle enrichment
Comprised of seminars, lectures and workshops, the curriculum includes refresher courses needed to maintain certification points. The courses are designed to improve:
- overall knowledge & skill base
- marketability within the foodservice industry
- personal & professional growth
