Colorado Springs Chapter Named American Culinary
Federation Western Region Chapter of the Year, One Other Honored
St. Augustine, Fla., May 5, 2011—ACF
Pikes Peak Chapter, Inc., Colorado Springs, Colo., was honored as the
American Culinary Federation Inc. (ACF) Western Region Chapter of the
Year, and ACF Southern California Inland Empire Chefs & Cooks
Association, San Bernardino, Calif., received an ACF Chapter Achievement
Award at the 2011 ACF Western Regional Conference held at Talking Stick
Resort, Scottsdale, Ariz., April 29–May 2, 2011.
“On behalf of the ACF Pikes Peak Chapter, we would like to
thank the American Culinary Federation for recognizing our
chapter’s hard work and dedication,” said Robert Hudson,
CEC, CCE, president. “Both the Chapter Achievement Award and the
ACF Western Region Chapter of the Year Award belong to the members,
including those who have worked tirelessly to support the goals of the
chapter and the mission of the American Culinary Federation.”
ACF Western Region Vice President William Franklin, CMC, WGMC, AAC,
named the chapter Western Region Chapter of the Year for its exemplary
performance within the community and to the culinary industry over the
past year. In addition, Franklin presented ACF Western Region Chapter
Achievement Awards to the two chapters which have maintained or
increased a strong membership; held a culinary competition,
certification practical test or other ACF-approved event in the last 12
months; nominated an outstanding and dedicated member for a 2011 award;
contributed to the community by participating in a fundraising function;
and positively represented the chapter and ACF in the community and
culinary industry.
The 2011 ACF Western Regional Conference, hosted by ACF Chefs
Association of Arizona, Inc., brought hundreds of chefs, cooks and
foodservice professionals to Scottsdale. The conference provided
attendees with opportunities to advance their professional development
and enhance their culinary skills through business seminars, cooking
demonstrations featuring the latest trends and techniques, cooking
competitions and awards.
