ACFEF Chef & Child
Awards/Scholarships
The Little Oscar Awards
The Little Oscar Awards recognize those chapters that put forth an
exceptional effort to advance the mission of the ACFEF Chef & Child
Foundation in its fight against childhood hunger and malnutrition. The
national Little Oscar award winner, selected from among the four
regional winners, will be announced at the annual ACF National
Convention.
It has been determined that there is a need to revamp the award
criteria and application process to more accurately reflect chapter
involvement in facilitating programs to provide education in childhood
nutrition and decreasing childhood obesity now and in the future.
Applications submitted for 2008 by the deadline of January 15 will be
reviewed for the award.

Michael Ty Endowment Fund
The Michael Ty Endowment Fund of ACFEFCCF was established in 2000. It
provides a scholarship for an ACF chef who has dedicated countless hours
to fighting childhood hunger, working on behalf of the foundation and
teaching the children who benefit from ACFEFCCF programs. Each award may
be used at a school chosen by its recipient within a 12-month period of
winning the award. The fund was named in tribute to Michael Ty, CEC,
AAC, ACF President (1993–1994 and 2009–present), who
conceived and produced the highly successful School Lunch Challenges for
three years. Ty is a long-time member of the ACFEFCCF board and has
served as its national president (1994–1995).
