Steve’s passion for food and competitive drive make him the ideal
candidate to take ACF Culinary Team USA 2012 to the top. He is currently
the Corporate Executive Chef at Unilever Food Solutions in Lisle,
Ill.
Alex Darvishi, CEC, AAC
ACF Culinary Youth Team USA Manager
Throughout his career, Alex has coached and mentored many young
culinarians to championship titles. He is currently the Executive Chef
at Houston Country Club in Houston.
Russell D. Campbell, CEC
ACF Culinary Team USA Military Team
Manager
Chief Campbell became the manager of the United States Army Culinary
Arts Team in January 2010. His vast experience in culinary and
leadership roles will contribute greatly to the Team.
Thomas Macrina, CEC, CCA, HGT, AAC
ACF Culinary Team USA Business Manager
As National Chair of the American Academy of Chefs, the honor society of
the American Culinary Federation, Tom will be a great asset to ACF
Culinary Team USA. He is the Executive Chef at the Desmond Great Valley
Hotel and Conference Center in Malvern, Pa.

Keith Keogh, CEC, AAC
ACF Culinary Team USA Advisor
Having experience as team manger in 1992 and 1996, Keith will be there
to assist and encourage the new ACF Culinary Team USA on their journey
to gold. He is the owner of Total Food Network and president/CEO of ZATS
Restaurants, Inc. in New Orleans.
George McNeill, CMC
ACF Culinary Team USA Advisor
With his vast judging experience, George will be a huge benefit to ACF
Culinary Team USA. He is currently the Vice President of culinary
operations for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
Ferdinand Metz, CMC, WGMC, AAC, HOF
ACF Culinary Team USA Advisor
With his experience as team manager in 1980, 1984, and 1988, Ferdinand
will be there to advise and guide ACF Culinary Team USA on this exciting
journey. Ferdinand is president emeritus of The Culinary Institute of
America, Hyde Park, N.Y., and managing partner of the Master Chefs
Institute.
Coaches
Darrin Aoyama, CEPC
ACF Culinary Team USA Coach
Not only was Darrin a member of the ACF Culinary National Team in 2000,
he captained the two-person pastry team representing the United States
at the IKA in 2004, earning a gold medal and a silver medal. He is
currently the Executive Pastry Chef at River Oaks Country Club in
Houston.
Joachim Buchner, CMC
ACF Culinary Team USA Coach
The journey still fresh on his mind as part of the national team of ACF
Culinary Team USA 2008, Joachim will work hard with the new Team in
showcasing American cuisine. He is currently the Executive Chef at Chevy
Chase Club in Maryland.
Charles Carroll, CEC, AAC
ACF Culinary Team USA Coach
Charles was not only a member of the national team of ACF Culinary Team
USA 2000, but he also coached the regional team in 2004 and the national
team in 2008. He is currently the Executive Chef at River Oaks Country
Club in Houston.
Patricia Nash
ACF Culinary Team USA Coach
The Team will greatly benefit from Patricia’s vast knowledge in
pastry, as well as her first-hand experience as pastry chef for ACF
Culinary Team USA 2004. She is currently Executive Pastry Chef at Motor
City Casino in Detroit.
Gilles Renusson
ACF Culinary Team USA Coach
Renusson is invaluable to ACF Culinary Team USA, bringing with him
extensive teaching and coaching experience. He also coached the ACF
Culinary Team USA 2008. He currently teaches advanced pastry classes at
Grand Rapids Community College in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Richard Rosendale, CEC
ACF Culinary Team USA Coach
Richard’s immense knowledge and experience with ACF Culinary Team
USA will greatly benefit the Team in preparing for IKA 2012. He was the
youngest member of ACF Culinary Team USA since the Team’s
inception in 2004. He was then appointed the Team Captain for ACF
Culinary National Team 2008, earning three gold medals and one silver
medal at the IKA. He is currently the Executive Chef at The Greenbrier
in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.
Daniel Scannell, CMC
ACF Culinary Team USA Coach
Having recently experienced the journey to the “culinary”
Olympics as part of the national team of ACF Culinary Team USA 2008,
Daniel knows what will be expected of ACF Culinary Team USA to
successfully represent the United States. He is currently Executive Chef
at La Gorce Country Club in Miami.
