ACFEF Quality Program
Criteria
The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation’s (ACFEF)
Quality Program status is a recognition earned by non-degree granting
culinary programs that offer training and education in a format less
than the minimal 1,000 hours required for ACFEF accreditation.
Programs that qualify include:
- Specialized or single subject programs
- Formalized demonstration classes
- Online educational programs
- International non-degree culinary programs that market to American
students
Application Process
Submit an application with supporting documents
to the ACF national office. Download the
application
package to get started. Supporting documentation includes:
- Program’s mission statement
- Description of student levels and curriculum details such as lesson
plans and syllabi
- Description of teaching methods
- Analysis of academic and/or laboratory related hours
- Instructor profiles and facility descriptions
Applications will then be reviewed to determine the education value
for the particular program. After preliminary review, a site visit will
occur to determine that the education described is being properly
delivered. Quality Programs are automatically accepted as approved
continuing education centers and give credit toward ACF certification.
By becoming ACFEF Quality Program, short-term programs at schools,
colleges and other educational entities can brand their course of study
with the ACFEF logo and name.
