Deadline for Best Discount to Register for ACF's National Convention Is May 20

Now you can register for ACF's 2005 National Convention online! With the theme of "Brand Your Future," this year's convention is scheduled for July 30-Aug. 2 at the Rivercenter Marriott in San Antonio. The best discounts on full registration for all ACF members (as high as 50% off for senior members) are available through Friday, May 20.

The Ritz-Carlton Culinary Showcase at Skills for Culinarians Day sponsored by Nestlé FoodServices

The ACF is very excited to have The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, LLC chefs present a cooking demonstration at the 4th Annual Skills for Culinarians Day, sponsored by Nestlé Foodservice at the 2005 National Conference in San Antonio. On Tuesday, August 2, chefs such as John Johnstone, CMC, Roy Khoo, Kai Lerman, Jean-Pierre Dubray will take part in cooking, and share their knowledge with other culinarians. The event is sponsored by Minor's/Nestlé Food Services. Stay tuned for more details!




ACF to Exhibit at NRA Show, May 21-24

Visit ACF at the 86th National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show at McCormick Place in Chicago, booth 2293 in the South Hall on the upper level. (This is a different booth location from previous years.) Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Pick up member-recruitment and education information, or simply drop by to say hello to staff. Safety and Sanitation online course now offered in Spanish, Curso de 30 Hrs de salubridad

On May 6, chefcertification.com announced that their online Sanitation and Safety course is now available in Spanish and English. Chefcertification.com said they would soon be following Sanitation with a Spanish version of Nutritional Cooking later in the fall of 2005 and Supervisory Management in early 2006.

The ACF has taken an aggressive position on the needed translation of culinary science and fundamental cooking and baking information for the thousands of Latino cooks and chefs currently employed in the United States. Look for the full article in your June edition of Center of the Plate!




Chapters: Keep raising funds for Chef & Child Foundation raffle

Chef and Child raffle tickets have been mailed to all chapters to sell for the chance to win a 2005 PT Cruiser. If you need additional tickets please contact the Chef & Child Office at 1-800-624-9458. The winner will be announced at the ACF 2005 National Convention in San Antonio.

The 2005 National Convention Program Guide, a keepsake publication containing the program schedule that distributes to every attendee at ACF's national convention in San Antonio, offers advertising space to ACF chapters and members at discounted rates.
