ACF Culinary Team USA Seeks Manager


ACF Culinary Team USA is looking for a qualified culinarian to fill the position of manager of Team USA for the 2010 to 2013 period. Those interested in applying for the position are asked to submit a letter of interest no later than Feb. 21.

All applications will be reviewed by ACF National President John Kinsella, CMC, CCE, WGMC, AAC, and former Team USA Manager Edward Leonard, CMC, AAC. Eligible candidates for the position will be asked to submit a curriculum vita, and these will be forwarded to a selection committee that comprises former Team USA managers, sponsors and competitors. Three candidates will be selected for final review by Kinsella and the committee, and one of those will be named ACF Culinary Team USA manager.

What’s Hot in 2009


The What’s Hot survey, conducted by the National Restaurant Association in partnership with ACF, reveals that nutrition and philosophy-driven food choices will be the hottest trends on restaurant menus this year. Local produce, bite-size desserts, organics, healthful kids’ meals and new cuts of meat top the list of nearly 210 culinary items according to the more than 1,600 ACF chefs who participated.


ACFFAC Recognizes Exemplary Programs


Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton, Wis., and Westmoreland County Community College, Youngwood, Pa., were recognized by the American Culinary Federation Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFFAC) as exemplary programs on Jan. 11.

To qualify as an exemplary program upon renewal of ACFFAC accreditation, a program must have had been in full compliance the last two site visitation reports and have met the ACFFAC standards in the eight required areas.
