Devin Alexander Presenting at ACF Convention
New York Times best-selling author Devin Alexander has
been added to the line-up of guest speakers at the 2009 ACF National
Convention, taking place in Orlando, Fla., July 11–14. Alexander
is the host of “Healthy Decadence with Devin Alexander” on
FitTV and most recently authored The Biggest Loser Family
Cookbook (Rodale, 2008). Don’t miss her nutrition-conscious
demo, “Healthy Decadence for Kids of All Ages,” Sunday, July
12, from 10–11:30 a.m.

New Durable Retail Price Computing Scales
The OHAUS RA and RE Retail Price Computing Scales combine durability
with NTEP (legal-for-trade) certified weighing for retail use from 15 to

Free CEC Written Exam
Candidates taking the new CEC written exam at
ACF National Convention, July 11–14, in Orlando, Fla., will
receive a $75 credit toward their certification fee. You can register
online or by calling (800) 624-9458, ext. 122. Take the new practice
exam in preparation, as it has the same question style and weighting as
the actual exam.

CMPC Guidelines Released
The new Certified Master Pastry Chef (CMPC)
guidelines have been released. The CMPC possesses the highest degree of
professional knowledge, skill and mastery of cooking techniques as they
apply to baking and pastry only after the candidate has passed this
intensive eight-day examination.
Cordon d’Or Culinary Academy Awards
The December issue of The National Culinary Review was
among the many ACF winners of the 2008 Cordon d’Or-Gold Ribbon
International Culinary Academy Awards, and ACF National president John
Kinsella, CMC, CCE, WGMC, AAC, was inducted into the Culinary Hall of
