Voting for ACF’s 2013–2015 national officers starts today, May 6, and ends May 27. Be on the lookout for your email ballot to arrive in your inbox May 6 with the subject line ACF OFFICIAL PROXY BALLOT FOR THE ELECTION OF THE 2013–2015 ACF NATIONAL OFFICERS. Let your voice be heard and vote. Mark Kent, CEC, AAC, chair, ACF Nominations & Elections Committee, will cast all proxy votes and announce election results at a members meeting June 11 at the ACF national office in St. Augustine, Fla.


Chefs, Students and ACF Chapters Honored at ACF Central Conference

The 2013 ACF Central Regional Conference, hosted by ACF Central Arkansas Chapter at The Peabody Little Rock and Statehouse Convention Center, Little Rock, Ark., April 28–May 1, was a success, with hundreds of chefs, cooks and foodservice professionals in attendance. More than 25 chefs, students and chapters were honored at the conference. Many of these award winners will compete against their regional counterparts at the 2013 ACF National Convention in Las Vegas, July 21–25. Winners of Kids Recipe Challenge Announced

The National Restaurant Association announced the winners of the Kids Recipe Challenge, a new initiative showcasing restaurants’ culinary ingenuity for creating healthful menu options for children. Created with founding partner McCormick For Chefs®, the Food Away From Home business of McCormick & Company, the contest recognized delicious and nutritious recipes from children’s menus at restaurants and foodservice establishments nationwide. The Kids Recipe Challenge involved an &#*220;industry tested, kid approved” approach, with a panel of industry professionals, including ACF National President Michael Ty, CEC, AAC, selecting finalists, and approximately 30 children choosing the winners.
