ACF Marks the Beginning of its New Vision with Global Launch of Logo to Commemorate 85th Anniversary

American Culinary Federation ACF marked the beginning of its new vision with the global launch of an updated logo to commemorate its 85th anniversary. ACF National President Thomas Macrina, CEC, CCA, AAC, unveiled ACF’s new logo Jan. 6, at 1 p.m. EST, via a video message.

The new ACF logo emphasizes the organization’s commitment to growth, transformation and innovation in the culinary industry while drawing on the legacy of the former logo. The tagline, “The Standard of Excellence for Chefs,” embodies the organization’s mission to enhance professional growth for all current and future chefs.

“It’s an exciting time for ACF, and starting today we are on a new path to growth and global recognition,” said Macrina. “The new ACF logo creates a more cohesive look for stronger brand recognition uniting all entities of the organization, while drawing on the legacy of the former logo. New ACF Chapter Logos

American Culinary Federation Your new ACF chapter logo is now available behind the login on your member profile of the ACF website. Log in to the ACF website, go to the “Members Only Area” and click “Download Your ACF Chapter Logo.” Please review the ACF Branded Chapter Logo Usage Guidelines on how to display the logo correctly and for acceptable use in collateral. The logo is branded and cannot be used by an apparel vendor unless they are licensed by the ACF. Current licensed vendors are Chef Revival, Chef Wear, Happy Chef Uniforms and NEWCHEF Fashions.

ACF Texas Panhandle Chefs de Cuisine Chapter Wins Ground American Lamb Recipe Contest

American Lamb A recipe for Crispy Lamb Won Tons with Cranberry Salsa from the ACF Texas Panhandle Chefs de Cuisine chapter was selected as the winning recipe in the Ground American Lamb recipe contest, sponsored by the American Lamb Board in partnership with ACF. The chapter will receive a $2,000 prize from the American Lamb Board.

ACF chapters that participated in the “American Lamb from the Ground Up” education program were invited to submit original ground American Lamb recipes for the contest. Recipe submissions were judged on recipe format, composition and clarity as well as cooking method, presentation and creative use of American Lamb.

CAFE/Kendall College Green Award Applications being Accepted

The Kendall College School of Culinary Arts and the Center for the Advancement of Foodservice Education (CAFE) are accepting applications for the 2014 CAFE/Kendall College Green Award. This is the first national award to recognize secondary and postsecondary culinary-arts and baking/pastry programs for their commitment to teaching and practicing sustainability. The winning program will receive a $1,000 cash prize plus complimentary registration to the 10th Annual CAFE Leadership Conference, June 19–21, 2014, in Salt Lake City. ACF Western and Central Regional Conference Early Registration Discounts
