ACF Board of Directors & Commissions in St. Augustine, Fla., for Meetings

It was a busy week at the ACF national office with many ACF members arriving in St. Augustine, Fla. The ACF Board of Directors, ACFEF Accrediting Commission and ACF Certification Commission are in sunny, but cold, Florida, for meetings. In addition, several vendors, partners and international guests were at the national office. One of the many highlights included a visit by Gissur Gudmundsson, president, and Ragnar Fridriksson, general manager, of the World Association of Chefs Societies for an all-day meeting with ACF National President Thomas Macrina, CEC, CCA, AAC. ACF is off to running start in 2014.

Hot Potato, Healthy Potato Recipe Contest

The United States Potato Board is celebrating the goodness of potatoes with a new recipe challenge—the Hot Potato, Healthy Potato Recipe Contest. The contest begins Feb. 1 and the deadline for entries is May 31. Submit your recipe for a healthier potato side dish, appetizer, salad or entree, along with a description of why the dish is better-for-you and what potatoes bring to the party. Recipes will be judged on taste, creativity, presentation and the provided description. Winners will be announced in July 2014. Learn more and apply.
