Rochelle Trotter Donates $25,000 to ACF for Scholarships
Rochelle Trotter, wife of the late renowned chef Charlie Trotter, HHOF, announced that the Charlie Trotter’s Culinary Education Foundation will donate $25,000 to the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF) for culinary-arts education scholarships. The announcement was made July 26 during the 2014 American Culinary Federation (ACF) National Convention in Kansas City, Missouri.
The $25,000 will be distributed in $2,500 increments to culinary students based on financial need and an application process to include an essay asking students how they envision themselves pursuing excellence on a daily basis. Read More

Certified Master Pastry® Chef Exam Update
Unfortunately, none of the pastry chefs met the criteria needed to pass the CMPC® exam, Aug. 16–23, at Johnson & Wales University, Charlotte Campus, Charlotte, North Carolina. However, the candidates showed tremendous courage and strength during the eight-day exam, and we are proud of them. Minor Chef Professionalism Award, sponsored by MINOR’S®; ACF Student Chef of the Year, sponsored by Custom Culinary, Inc.; ACF Hermann G. Rusch Chef’s Achievement Award; and the ACF Chapter Achievement Award. The national winners of U.S.A.’s Chef of the Year and ACF Pastry Chef of the Year receive $5,000, and ACF Chef Educator of the Year and ACF Student Chef of the Year winners receive $1,000. The national Dr. L.J.
