ACF Written Exams

Registering for ACF Written Exams

ACF written exams are administered through PSI. PSI is a full-service testing provider with over 500 testing centers nationwide.

ACF approval is required prior to registering for written exams.
Exams can be scheduled by phone or online registration.

Phone Registration: Call (844) 704-1487, option 3. Phone representatives are available Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 8 pm EST and Saturday – Sunday 10 am – 6:30 pm EST.

The written exam fee is $75 and paid directly to PSI.
Written exam scores are valid for two years.


For Special Accommodations, you must complete the Request for Special Accommodations Form and submit with appropriate documentation. Please allow 45 days for review and approval. Submission does not constitute approval.

Written Exam Cancellation Policy

PSI has a 24 hour cancellation policy.

Written Exam Retake Policy

If written exam is not passed on the first attempt, there is a 30 day waiting period before the second attempt. If the second attempt is unsuccessful, there is a 90 day waiting period. Candidates are limited to three attempts per 12-month cycle.

Written Exam Preparation

The ACF Education Foundation offers optional practice exams for purchase. The purchase or completion of the practice exam is not required for certification nor does it guarantee success in passing, but should be a good indicator of your readiness to test. Practice exams are available for 30-day unlimited access. The practice exams resemble in style and composition the actual exams, but they are not the actual exams.

ACF sponsor Test sites administer ACF written exams. To become an ACF Sponsor Test Site, review the facility requirements and complete the ACF Written Exam Sponsor Site Application. Once approved you will contacted by a Comira Representative for setup instructions and proctor training.
