Chris is the current President and Chairperson of the Board of Control of the American Culinary Federation / Minneapolis Chefs Chapter. Throughout his long career, Chris has held leadership positions with the American Culinary Federation both in Minnesota, being on the Board over two decades and nationally as a member of the Nominations and Elections Committee, Certification Evaluation Committee and Certification Evaluator Trainer since its inception, Sergeant at Arms for the Central Regional and most recent he is currently a member of the ACFEF Education Task Force and the National Certification Commission Chair. Along with certification, Dwyer stays quite active as an industry professional for the ACFEF Accreditation Program.

He’s certified by the ACF as an executive chef, culinary administrator and approved as a certification evaluator (CE) and trainer. He belongs to ACF’s exclusive honor society, the American Academy of Chefs. A teacher to the core, Chris loves teaching, doing demonstrations and seminars on various topics for the ACF local culinary programs and in his daily job as his company’s resident chef. Dwyer enjoys passing along the knowledge he has been able to obtain over his 30 plus years of cooking. Chef teaches whenever possible and mentors the Chefs and cooks with the P.I.C.A./Head start Programs in the Twin Cities.

Chris is an active board member and mentor to the National Restaurant Association Pro-Start high school program. He has both mentored and judged the Pro-Start locally and nationally, since 2007. Chef Dwyer also loves to speak on behalf of the industry to up and coming culinary classes at the local schools, to the media and young kids.

Other notable establishments that Chef Chris as partnered with over the years are Mendakota Country Club, The Kahler Grand and International Hotel, Doubletree Hotels, Minneapolis College, Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Program and was a Chef consultant for InHarvest Specialty Foods to the United States Military. Chef Dwyer is a dedicated father and family man and loves to enjoy life and travel with his children and his wife, Megan, as much as possible.

Intro to the Twin Cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul

I know I speak for not only the ACF MCC, but for the all the chapters in the surrounding area, Western Wisconsin, Iowa, North and South Dakota when I welcome you to the land of Paul Bunyon. There is saw much to do in the cities from shopping and enjoying an amusement park in the Largest indoor entertainment facility in the Midwest, The Mall of American.

The restaurant scene, what an awesome hub of great food, world class beverage programs, James Beard award winnings and yes plenty of Craft beer establishments, Cheeses and of course cigars bars. Many places are right around the hotel, down Nicolet Mall, Hennepin Ave or a short drive away Transportation is a breeze with Uber, Lyfte and the Metro Transit is very cool as well.

So, welcome to the home of “the Minnesota Mafia”, “the Purple People Feeders” and my home, Minnesota.
