Star Anise/Orange-Infused Tonic

Ingredients
4 cups water
3 cups cane sugar
6 T. citric acid
3 T. cinchona bark
3 stalks rough-chopped lemon grass
1 lemon
1 lime
Orange zest and juice
1 cup star anise
4 oranges (no peel)
Instructions
Put water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until combined. Add remaining ingredients; simmer for 30 minutes. Strain and reserve.
