“Green peas gallates/ patties stuffed with mint and cheese. Green pea is a widely used vegetable globally and in Indian cuisine starters have a major significance. This recipe has a soft center with unique cheesy flavor enhancing the taste.

“Enjoy with traditional mint chutney or a dip of your choice. Bon Appetit!

“Tip :You can use readymade packaged Garam Masala (a mix of aromatic spices)”


Boiled fresh green peas 200 gm
Clarified Butter (ghee) 30 gm
Cumin Seeds 10 gm
Grated boiled potato 50 gm
Salt to taste
Green chilly chopped 10 gm
Ginger chopped 10 gm
Roasted Cumin powder 10 gm
Green coriander chopped 20 gm
Corn flour 20 gm

Grated cheese 40 gm
Chopped mint 10 gm
Chopped raisins(optional) 10 gm
Garam masala powder* 04 gm


1.Mince the boiled green peas coarsely.
2.Heat Clarified Butter(ghee) in a pan add cumin seeds to it.
3.Let it start to crackle then add chopped ginger and green chilly to it. Add green peas and sauté for a
4.Remove from fire and add grated boiled potatoes to it.
5.Add salt ,chopped coriander, garam masala ,roasted jeera and add corn flour to it for binding.
6.Divide the mixture into 6 individual patties and stuff them with grated cheese, chopped coriander, chopped
mint and raisins and make flat patties .
7.Cook the patties on a griddle plate in clarified butter till it gets a golden brown crust.

Serve with mint chutney on side.
